The Magneto is the pinnacle of Ball Watch Company's research into giving their watches superior magnetic repellent functionality. For a watch to be classed as "antimagnetic", it must be able to withstand a magnetic force of 4,800A/m without its timekeeping accuracy being affected by more than 30 seconds a day. The Magneto S eclipses this by remaining fully functional and unaffected up to 80,000A/m.
The watch achieves this with a revolutionary mumetal inner structure, protecting the movement from magnetic fields. This is an alloy of nickel, iron, copper and molybdenum. The inner structure has a unique diaphragm system, twisting the bezel to retract the magnetic shield to see the Chronometer specification Swiss Automatic movement, with date function through the exhibition case back.
Surrounding the structure is a stainless steel case, with sapphire crystal, on a black cordura fabric strap. The dial is black, with highly visible baton markers and hands, all fitted with luminous gas markings, for unbeatable low light visibility.
